Step 3]
Go public and build a list of supporters

Create a name and logo and name for your campaign. Here are some examples! (PDF)

Create a website (we recommend squarespace or wix, or we can make a page for you, on our site!)

Set up a subscription-based newsletter list. (We recommend mailchimp)

Launch your campaign!!

Connect with local groups in your area

Host an event (virtual or IRL) to build awareness and support.

Consider a media release

We can help you with ALL these steps!

Step 4] Seek and secure community endorsements

Make a list of community groups, community leaders who might endorse your campaign.  Announce each endorsement on social media, and add to website.

The goal is to show that your proposal has broad support. Start with the “low hanging fruit” first: People you know, or people who are likely to endorse. Publish those names, and then go for more.

Put them all on your website - with smiling photos! Each time you get a new endorsement, announce it on your social media accounts, with a big Thank You!

For your list, try to keep an eye on gender balance and BIPOC representation. And also try to show multi-partisan support. Ideally, you have folks who are associated with “left” and “right”. Red, orange, blue and green!
